In another report, a Nigerian automobile company identified as Oldang International Limited has developed solar-powered tricycles with air conditioning.
Tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep are used to commute short distances in Nigeria. They are a means of public transport.
The upgrade by the Oldang limited would ensure that tricycles get people to destinations in comfort.
It would also reduce the cost of fuel spent by tricycle riders. According to the company’s chief executive officer, Olubunmi Oluwadare, the sale of their solar-powered tricycle would gradually extinguish petrol engine tricycles across the country.
